Do You Really “Got This Addiction?”

“I Got This”

You cannot take a break for one minute and think that “I got this” or “I’ll never relapse because I don’t want to.” Think long and hard…anyone and everyone who has ever relapsed probably said that they “Didn’t have any desire to get high anymore.” A lack of desire does not promise sobriety and clean time. Do you really “got this addiction?” What has your past addict behavior verified to you?

God does not even promise us that. 

“Pride comes before the fall”, (Proverbs 16:18). Many versions use the word “destruction” instead of “fall”. If you say that “I got this” at any point in time, it’s very likely that you are in serious trouble. If you catch yourself in a place of spiritual pride, please slow down, pray, and do whatever you can to humble yourself.
